Overview

Plate that has to hold a datum under vibration

An engine plate and a battery plate do the same job in different registers: locate a heavy mass precisely, hold it there through years of vibration, and keep the mounting holes in tolerance so assembly never fights the fixture.

The failure modes are dimensional, not cosmetic. We form these parts with stiffening features, weld them on fixtures and inspect the mounting interfaces — because a plate that moves two millimetres is a plate that comes back.
